Ryan Bretag has spent 15 years in education as a secondary English educator, a building-level administrator, and now as the Director of Instructional Technology and Library Services for District 225. In his role, he focuses on innovation in learning and teaching, professional development, technology infusion, whole-child education, and project management for technology initiatives.
Ryan has presented and facilitated workshops at local, state, and national levels with a focus on leading, learning and teaching, social media, and blended learning environments. The common thread in his talks is that the most important conversation we can be having today in schools centers on learning, happiness, and passions.
Ryan holds a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction, a Masters in Educational Leadership, and is currently completing his dissertation at Aurora University’s in the Ed.D. program for Leadership in Curriculum and Instruction. He is qualitative researcher and his dissertation is an ethnography study on spaces people inhabit for learning and a comparative case study of the design, implementation, and impact of physical learning spaces in schools using an environmental psychology lens.
